Venice is a group of 117 small islands separated by canals and lined through bridges. In other words the 117 canals of Venice divided the city into 117 different Islands. Interestingly these canals served as main transportation network in Venice. Grand canal, the main waterway of the city is the largest canal of Venice, have a length of 3.8 km and width of 60 – 90 meter.
Grand canal boat tour becomes the best way to explore Venice, to get deep knowledge about historical importance of the city. Gondolas, traditional flat bottomed boats and motorized boats are mainly used for grand canal tour. Such tours bring close view of historical buildings, palaces, churches and centuries old rialto bridge of Venice.
